Sailing Smoothly Into the Future

At Port Canaveral, we’re proud of our past. We’re also aware that much of our story lies ahead of us. We’re looking forward eagerly to what we can become. We’ve reached a period of change, as the Port evolves to support the growing economy of the Central Florida region. The Canaveral Port Authority’s primary strategies for our evolution are:

1. Controlling land use to maximize economic benefits while protecting health, safety and the environment.
2. Building on the success of the cruise business to attract more ships and passengers.
3. Exploring new opportunities in cargo, including alternative cargo-transport systems.
4. Attracting compatible and diversified businesses to the commercial park and foreign trade zone.
5. Locating public facilities and utilities to maximize efficiency and minimize installation costs, maintenance and environmental impact.
6. Positioning the Port as a local attraction and tourist destination by encouraging development of dining, entertainment and hospitality facilities on Port property.
7. Building the image of the Port as a hassle-free, people- and business-friendly environment.
