Choose Your Best Way to Access FTZ Benefits
In-zone Location
One of the largest foreign trade zones in the U.S., FTZ 136 encompasses 4,160 acres through four general-purpose sites in north, central and south Brevard County. This allows many businesses to take advantage of its benefits by locating within the general-purpose zone boundaries.
In north Brevard County, near Titusville, 1,372 contiguous acres surround the Space Coast Regional Airport. This area includes the Spaceport Commerce Park.
In central Brevard County, the Canaveral Port Authority governs 886.1 acres. This acreage includes the commercial/warehousing/ distribution districts of the Port. In 1997, the Tate Industrial Park, a 23.5-acre parcel located in Cocoa was added to the trade zone, to extend its benefits into the mainland area of Central Brevard County.
In south Brevard County, 1,876.2 acres lie in the immediate area of Melbourne International Airport and the city of Melbourne.

At Port Canaveral we have affordable land available for long-term leasing, if you are interested in building your own FTZ facility. Also, there are generally subleases available in existing facilities. For more information, click here or contact our Tenant Development Department.
Subzone Status
When relocating is impossible or impractical, subzone status allows a company to benefit from the advantages of an FTZ without relocating within the physical boundaries of the general-purpose zone. For example, Subzone 136-C contains Harris Corporation’s Government Communications Systems Division, enabling this company to be more competitive in large international commercial satellite projects. If your business has a large, established facility or is dependent for its operations on its current location, you may want to request subzone status.
General-Purpose Warehousing and Distribution Centers
As an alternative to seeking subzone status, companies who are unable or unwilling to move within the FTZ’s boundaries still can reap its tremendous savings by processing, warehousing, and distributing their goods through general-purpose warehousing and distribution centers located within the zone.
FTZ 136’s four general-purpose warehouse operators have a total of 120,000 square feet of available space at Port Canaveral.
